San Diego's Boutique Animal Rescue and Retirement Sanctuary
At Quixote Rescue and Sanctuary, we built something Southern California has been missing. A boutique farm where rescued and retired animals live out their days in peace, on beautiful land, with people who genuinely care for them. Some came to us in dire circumstances. Some were brought by owners who loved them too much to send them far away. All of them are home now. And you can be part of that.
Mariposa, Freya, and Diego share pasture in their own horse area. The donkeys: Santiago, Hotey, and Dulcinea, along with Winnie the pig and Ollie the alpaca roam alongside eleven chickens who have strong opinions about everything.
Each of them has a story. Each of them receives daily hands-on care in a warm, thoughtfully kept environment. If you're retiring an animal, we offer dedicated facilities close to home with overnight accommodations so you never lose touch. If you want to support an animal already here, you can sponsor one directly (weekly, monthly, or annually), or make a one-time donation to the sanctuary as a whole. However you show up, it matters.
